Employment

According to the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) Projections 2009, Solano County is one of the three Bay Area counties that will experience the most job growth over the next 25 years.

Solano County and Fairfield jobs will be concentrated in manufacturing, service, retail, government, and construction. Manufacturing and wholesale trade employment is forecasted to increase by 39% between 2009 and 2030. Retail employment is expected to increase 43% between 2009 and 2030.  Service employment is expected to increase about 44% over the same period.

Fairfield is expected to have the greatest numerical job increases of any Solano County city with about 20,600 new jobs being added between 2009 and 2030.
