The City would like Fairfield residents to send in their photographs of local businesses to not only showcase their talents, but help promote spending locally. The city of Fairfield is encouraging shoppers to support local business this holiday season as a means to improving the quality of life for its residents. The city recently launched a community awareness campaign to coincide with National Buy Local Week, "Be Local, Buy Local, Benefit Fairfield." That is essentially the message the city and local businesses will push this month when it launches its "Buy Local" campaign, just in time for the holiday shopping season. Businesses around Fairfield will soon start posting 'buy local' promotions in their storefronts, and about 5,000 residents will open their water bills to find paperwork extolling the municipal benefits of shopping in town.
