The mission of the Community Development Department is to protect, enhance, and expand the community's physical, environmental, economic, and historic assets, and to improve and expand its supply of affordable housing.

The Department is responsible for:

• Current and long-range planning activities
• Zoning matters
• Matters related to the City's Fire and Building codes
• Including issuance of Building Permits
